VIDEO TUTORIAL: EVERYTHING BUT THE BAGEL SEASONING

HOW TO MAKE EVERYTHING BUT THE BAGEL SEASONING

This might just be the easiest recipe on my entire website. It is so dang easy to make this irresistible seasoning mix.

STEP 1

In a small bowl, combine the following:

  • Poppy seeds

  • White sesame seeds

  • Black sesame seeds

  • Dried minced garlic

  • Dried minced onion

  • Fine sea salt (flaked, fine sea salt or kosher salt all work great)

Spices in orange bowl ready to mix to create bagel seasoning

STEP 2

Mix all of that yumminess together and store it in a small mason jar or another container that seals tightly. Store your new bff at room temperature.

RECIPE NOTES

  • I’ve had a hard time finding flaked salt at local grocery stores, so fine sea salt is usually my go-to for this recipe.
  • Replace black sesame seeds with regular if you are unable to find them at the store.

12 WAYS TO USE EVERYTHING BUT THE BAGEL SEASONING

This famous seasoning is not just for bagels and cream cheese, people! Here is a short list of other great ways you can enjoy this irresistible mix:

  • Add it to your Homemade Bagels (obviously).

  • Sprinkle it over your scrambled eggs, fried eggs or even soft or hard boiled eggs!

  • Enjoy it with avocado slices or even an Avocado Egg Rice Cake. It tastes amazing on avocado toast, too!

  • Sprinkle it over a couple fresh, ripe tomato slices as a side to a summer meal.

  • Add it to a bowl of cottage cheese for a delicious savory snack.

  • Mix the bagel seasoning with 2 tablespoons of oil and rub it onto your next batch of baked or grilled chicken.

  • Sprinkle it over your next salad (like this Crunchy Bok Choy Salad or this Superfood Salad).

  • Add it to your next pan of delicious roasted veggies!

  • Season your Baked Fries or Baked Potato Chips with it.

  • Sprinkle it over your next pizza before popping it in the oven.

  • Combine 1 teaspoon of Everything Bagel Seasoning with 1/2 cup of either sour cream or Greek yogurt for a delicious creamy dip for veggies or fries.

  • Sprinkle it over your next chicken rice bake just before putting it in the oven.

Goodness, you guys, I could go on forever with ideas! Basically anything savory is a good match for Everything Bagel Seasoning. If you have other ideas or have used this in other ways than what I’ve mentioned, leave me a comment! ENJOY! Have fun!
