Add hash browns to an air fryer basket or the inner pot of a pressure air fryer, in a single layer.
Air fry at 375 degrees F for 6 minutes. Toss and cook for an additional 6 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
At the end of the cook time, transfer from the air fryer to a serving bowl. Repeat process with remaining hash browns.
Notes
Looking for a way to quickly cook shredded sweet potatoes? Great news! This recipe works perfectly for this variety, as well.
To achieve extra crispy hash browns, add a few minutes to the overall cook time. For softer potatoes, decrease cooking time by 1-3 minutes total.
For best results, spritz with a little oil before cooking. Good options include avocado oil, olive oil, canola oil or vegetable oil.
Individual hash brown patties will work, as well. Place frozen patties in an even layer and follow same cook time suggestions.
To make homemade hash browns from scratch, shred fresh potatoes using a cheese grater. Russet potatoes work best. Add to a large bowl with oil and seasonings of your choice. Mix well and place shredded potatoes in a single layer and cook at 375 degrees F for 5 minutes. Toss and cook an additional 5 minutes.
