Instructions

Notes

  • Looking for a way to quickly cook shredded sweet potatoes? Great news! This recipe works perfectly for this variety, as well.
  • To achieve extra crispy hash browns, add a few minutes to the overall cook time. For softer potatoes, decrease cooking time by 1-3 minutes total.
  • For best results, spritz with a little oil before cooking. Good options include avocado oil, olive oil, canola oil or vegetable oil.
  • Individual hash brown patties will work, as well. Place frozen patties in an even layer and follow same cook time suggestions.
  • To make homemade hash browns from scratch, shred fresh potatoes using a cheese grater. Russet potatoes work best. Add to a large bowl with oil and seasonings of your choice. Mix well and place shredded potatoes in a single layer and cook at 375 degrees F for 5 minutes. Toss and cook an additional 5 minutes.
