Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp cinnamon
  • 12 slices Texas toast cut into thirds
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar for topping
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup for dipping

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine eggs, milk, heavy cream and melted butter. Mix well.
  • In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Mix well.
Dunk each strip of bread in the egg mixture. Immediately roll it in the sugar mixture and place in the basket of an air fryer. Repeat until there is a single layer.
  • Air fry at 375 degrees F for 7 minutes. Flip the French toast sticks and cook for an additional 5 minutes at the same temperature. Repeat with remaining ingredients until bread is gone.
  • Enjoy immediately with powdered sugar and maple syrup or freeze for later use. To reheat, microwave for 60 seconds.

Notes

  • Meal prep tip! This is a great recipe to freeze for later. Place cooled French toast sticks in a ziploc bag and seal. Freeze for up to 3 months. When ready to eat, place frozen French toast sticks in a single layer and microwave for 60 seconds.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving, alongside a small bowl of maple syrup for dipping.
  • Other types of bread will work for this recipe, but Texas toast produces the best outcome.
  • For a healthier version, omit the sugar and cinnamon and place the sticks in the air fryer after dunking in egg mixture.
  • For a less crispy end result, cook on one side for 7 minutes and the other for 3 minutes.
