Ingredients

CHEESE BALL

  • 16 oz cream cheese at room temperature
  • 4 oz sour cream
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 4 oz goat cheese crumbles
  • 1/2 cup bacon cooked crumbles
  • 2 green onions chopped

COATING

  • 1/2 cup bacon cooked crumbles
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  • 2 green onions chopped

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Using an electric hand mixer, mix on medium speed until creamy. Add cheddar cheese, goat cheese, 1/2 cup bacon and 2 green onions. Mix until just combined.
  • Divide the mixture in half and place each half on a piece of plastic wrap. Form into balls, wrapping the plastic wrap around them. Refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour.
  • Just before serving, combine the 1/2 cup bacon, pecans and 2 green onions in a medium bowl. Pour in batches onto a rimmed plate. Remove the cheese balls from the plastic wrap and roll them in the coating until thoroughly coated. Replenish plate as needed.
  • Place the cheese balls on a serving plate surrounded by crackers or veggies.

Notes

  • Either create two small balls or one giant ball. You'll need the same ingredients either way and both ways work great.
  • Serve this appetizer with a sturdy cracker or hefty veggies such as baby carrots.
  • To save yourself a bit of time, replace cooked chopped bacon with bacon bits.
  • For a different flavor, consider replacing the goat cheese with feta or blue cheese crumbles.
  • Any chopped nuts will work great for this recipe!
  • Another time saver is purchasing pre shredded cheese.
  • For best results, refrigerate the balls before coating and serving. Serving at room temperature will make it more difficult to hold their form.
  • A packet of dry ranch dressing mix adds a delicious and unique flavor to the mix!
