Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9×5 loaf pan with cooking spray and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Mix well.
Add the honey, beer and 1/4 cup of the melted butter to the bowl. Stir until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Using the back of a spoon or a rubber spatula, smooth the top so the batter is even. Pour the remaining 1/4 cup of melted butter evenly over the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out totally clean.
Let bread sit for 5 minutes. Use a butter knife to release the bread from the sides of the pan and turn the bread out onto a cutting board. Cut into slices using a serrated bread knife and serve.
Notes
The amount of beer flavoring that comes through in the bread is up to you! Use a darker, bolder beer for a more robust flavor. Use a lighter beer for a subtler flavor.
Add 1-2 tablespoons of additional sugar or honey for an even sweeter bread.
Place the dry ingredients in a mason jar and give it as a gift, along with a bottle of beer and the recipe instructions.
