WHY MAKE THIS RECIPE?

This recipe has been rigorously tested and is TRIED and true. It produces the fluffiest, most delicious dinner roll your lips will ever taste.

INGREDIENTS

– 2 cups warm water   (between 105-115°F) – 0.5 oz active dry yeast – 1 tbsp salt – 1/2 cup sugar – 1/4 cup vegetable oil  – 5 cups flour  – 1 egg

STEP 1

Pour water into a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5 minutes or until mixture becomes cloudy. Whisk briefly.

STEP 2

Add the salt, sugar and vegetable oil. Whisk until the salt and sugar have dissolved, about  1 minute.

STEP 3

Add the flour 1 cup at a time, stirring after each addition. Transfer dough to a lightly floured work surface and knead for approximately 3 minutes, or until soft and pliable.

Coat a bowl with oil and add the dough. Cover the bowl and let it sit in a warm place for 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.

STEP 4

Knead dough for 3-5 minutes, or until soft and pliable. Divide into 15 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball with your hands.

STEP 5

Place the balls of dough into a greased 9x13 baking dish, making five rows  of three.

STEP 6

Cover baking dish and let sit in a warm place for 2 hours, or until the dough balls have doubled in size. Gently brush the tops of the dough with beaten egg.

STEP 7

Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes, or until rolls are golden-brown. Cut at the seams and serve immediately.

STEP 8

Serve with maple syrup, honey butter or homemade apple butter for an amazing experience!
