Chocolate Peppermint Cookies with Vanilla Buttercream

Chocolate Peppermint Cookies with Vanilla Buttercream is a soft, chewy chocolate cookie base with a creamy vanilla buttercream topped with crushed peppermint candies. The combination of flavors is so rich and festive! This will make a great addition to any Christmas or Holiday cookie platter!

Hey there! My name is Karli, I’m visiting from Cooking with Karli as part of Pip and Ebbyโ€™s holiday cookie exchange!

These Chocolate Peppermint Cookies are HANDS DOWN my favorite Christmas cookie of all time. I’ve been making these cookies for years and they never disappoint.

When I say years, I mean nearly TEN! (And that right there makes me feel old!) It all happened for the first time back in High School while working at Subway.. More on that story over here though!

This chocolate cookie is a very basic recipe that yields such a chewy, rich cookie time after time! It is the base for quite a few cookies on my site, my Chocolate Cookies with Reeses Pieces being the most popular.

The rich chewy cookie is topped with my favorite Cookie Frosting (aka the most delicious Vanilla Buttercream of them all!) and then sprinkled with crushed peppermint candies.

Honestly, Christmas in a cookie that needs to grace all of your neighborhood cookie plates this season. Honestly, Christmas in a cookie that needs to grace all of your neighborhood cookie plates this season.
