    Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies Recipe

    Tender, perfect Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies (aka Peanut Butter Blossoms) are a classic holiday or any-time dessert. Super easy to make, these are the softest, chewiest cookies you’ll make! The Hershey’s Kiss pressed into the center MAKES the cookie!

    When you blog long enough, eventually there are recipes that need to be combed through and recreated. Here you go! This is one of those recipes. I remember the first time I made peanut butter kiss cookies.

    Dan and I had friends over for dinner and we devoured bread bowls filled with Cheesy Vegetable Soup and afterward indulged in these delicious cookies. I vividly remember our friends swooning over the cookies and falling in love myself.

    These are holiday favorites, yes, but they’re perfect to make any time of the year and for any type of gathering. Their soft, perfect texture will make anyone swoon. Chewy, soft, peanut buttery and topped with a chocolate kiss? PERFECTION.

    How To Make Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

    STEP 1

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside. Using a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment (or a large mixing bowl with a hand mixer), combine the butter, granulated and brown sugars, egg and vanilla and beat on medium speed until creamy and free of lumps. Add the peanut butter and mix until just combined.

    In a large bowl, add corn starch, flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Gradually add to the butter mixture and beat on medium speed until just combined.

    STEP 2

    Pour the 1/2 cup granulated into a small bowl. Scoop out tablespoon-size portions of batter and roll (using your hands) into balls. Roll the dough balls in the sugar and place 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until light golden brown.

    Remove from oven and gently but firmly press one chocolate candy into the center of each cookie. Allow to cool completely.

    Recipe Notes

    • Milk chocolate kiss candies are the classic choice, of course, but feel free to replace them with any of the delicious varieties of kisses available!
    • Roll the balls of dough in granulated sugar or opt for a chunkier sugar texture and use turbinado sugar instead.

    Why Are My Cookies Flat

    If your cookies are coming out of the oven looking flat, you either haven’t used the appropriate leavening agents (baking powder or baking soda) or you have used too little flour. If the cookies are flat and greasy, you may have used too much butter. Follow baking recipes very closely to avoid making flat cookies!

    Can You Freeze Cookie Dough

    Cookie dough is PERFECT for freezing! It’s one of the things I love most about it. Place prepared cookie dough into a resealable freezer bag and press as much air out as possible. Freeze for up to six months. When you are ready to make the cookies, allow the dough to thaw completely in the fridge overnight then bake as directed.

    Ingredients
