The Pink Lily Cocktail is a Kentucky Derby favorite drink! Enjoy any time of the year!

Since my last post we have traveled from Kentucky to North Carolina. I sit now with my little apple-clad laptop on my lap in my dad and stepmom’s back yard. A hornet’s nest sits six feet to my left, but thankfully it seems that most of them have died in last night’s hot-water drenching (don’t ask). We are listening to the frogs croak and the cicadas sing while we watch the glow of lightning bugs (fireflies? which do you say?). Ten minutes ago a deer nibbled on tomatoes in the garden next door. I love this! Life in our townhome is not nearly this exciting.

This drink, the delicious Pink Lily, was passed on to me by my beautiful, kind friend Sarah who hosted us for five days last week in Louisville. This is a famous Kentucky Derby drink. If you cannot stomach a Mint Julep (me!), this is the drink for you! It is YUMMY. Thank you, Sarah!
