This easy cheese ball recipe is SO delicious and the most perfect party food! Three types of cheese, bacon and green onions are packed inside AND out.
You guys, I’m embarrassed to admit this, but this is the first time I’ve ever made a cheese ball in my entire life. Where have these delicious balls been all my life?!
I can see myself making these for parties of all kinds in the very near future. We brought these yummy little balls of cheese to Thanksgiving dinner this year and they got MAULED.
I remember always scoffing at cheese balls any time I’ve seen them as part of a party spread in the past. What was I thinking? Please don’t be like me. Don’t scoff this yummy appetizer. It’s so easy to throw this recipe together and I cannot put into words how addicting and delicious it is.
HOW TO MAKE A DELICIOUS EASY CHEESE BALL
STEP 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, Worcestershire, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Using an electric hand mixer, mix on medium speed until creamy.
Add cheddar cheese, goat cheese, 1/2 cup bacon and 2 green onions. Mix until just combined.
Divide the cheese mixture in half and place each half on a piece of plastic wrap. Shape into a ball, wrapping the plastic wrap around each one. Refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour.
STEP 2
When ready to serve, combine the 1/2 cup bacon, pecans and chopped green onions in a medium bowl. Pour in batches onto a rimmed plate.
Remove the cheese balls from the plastic wrap and roll them in the coating until thoroughly coated. Replenish plate as needed.
Place the cheese balls on a serving plate surrounded by crackers or veggies.
RECIPE NOTES: EASY CHEESE BALL
- Either create two small balls or one giant ball. You’ll need the same ingredients either way and both ways work great.
- Serve this appetizer with a sturdy cracker or hefty veggies such as baby carrots.
- To save yourself a bit of time, replace cooked chopped bacon with bacon bits.
- For a different flavor, consider replacing the goat cheese with feta or blue cheese crumbles.
- Any chopped nuts will work great for this recipe!
- Another time saver is purchasing pre shredded cheese.
- For best results, refrigerate the balls before coating and serving. Serving at room temperature will make it more difficult to hold their form.

I made it for a group of women and all enjoyed it. I would suggest reducing the salt to 1/4 t. My hubby and I used the leftover on a baked potato; just like a loaded spud. I made 2 small balls and froze the 2nd.
Thanks for the recipe, I will make it again for gatherings.
