Only FIVE ingredients, 30 minutes in the oven and these colorful, fun and delicious Funfetti Bars will be in your hungry fingers!

This post is coming to you from Minneapolis Children’s Hospital. I’d have to go through my archives to be sure, but this could be my first post ever written from the hospital. Elijah is currently having the ear bones in his left ear reconstructed to hopefully restore hearing that he has been without for a few years now. The doctor found NO regrowth of the mass that has been removed twice. This is great news! We would appreciate prayers for a successful and smooth rest of the surgery and recovery. THANK YOU!

I had every intention of making these bars over the weekend while we had guests in town, but it just never worked out. We weren’t at home much and when we were at home….we were tired, playing, sleeping or snuggling. I wasn’t about to interrupt any of the above. Instead of having these around to share with friends, I made them yesterday so that I could eat the entire pan myself. Goodness gracious, please heed my warning, people. Do not make these bars unless people are nearby. I literally could not stop myself!

There are literally only five ingredients involved here, so this is super-duper easy.

Add the following ingredients to a medium bowl:

    15.25-oz. box funfetti cake mix

    1 stick butter, softened

    1 egg

Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until mixture becomes doughy.

    Add:

    1 cup M&M’s candies

    1/2 cup sprinkles

Gently stir them into the dough. I dare you not to try a taste.

Press the mixture into a 9×9 baking dish coated with cooking spray. Add a few more M&M’s and sprinkles on the top. For good measure.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Allow the bars to cool completely after you have removed them from the oven (hardest thing ever) otherwise they may crumble due to major gooey-ness.

These are SO. GOOD. I had zero willpower once I took the first bite. Doomed. Done. Over.

Enjoy, friends! And good luck. 🙂

Only FIVE ingredients and a bit of time in the oven and you’ve got the most colorful, tummy-pleasing dessert on your hands…er, in your belly.

You are such a great mom. If you want to eat a pan of bars you go for it. I am sure you will get to the gym and work them off.
Sammy was such a good little man today. Love spending time with him. The kids were asking about Elijah. Such good news about the surgery. It was nice to meet Dan's father today after all of these years.
