    Why This Recipe Works

The thing I love about these sugared pecans, aside from the fact that they are totally addicting and yummy, is that they’re made in a slow cooker. This means easy! This super easy snack is great to have in a bowl for grazing during holiday gatherings.

They are also a perfect gift. Throw some into a mason jar and tie a ribbon around it!

    Recipe Ingredients

Pecans – Purchase fresh whole pieces vs chopped pecans.

Salted butter – This will compliment the sweetness.

Brown sugar and Granulated Sugar – Both sugars will caramelize around the pecans.

Spices – Cinnamon, all-spice, ground cloves

    How To Make Sugared Pecans

    Step 1

Place the following ingredients into a crockpot:

    • Pecans
    • Butter
    • Brown sugar
    • Granulated sugar
    • All-spice
    • Ground cloves
    • Cinnamon
pecans, sugar and butter in a crockpot

    Step 2

Cook on Low heat for 2 hours, stirring often. Pour into a medium bowl and let cool before serving.

    Recipe Notes

    • Once they’ve cooled, sugared pecans are ready for storing. Make sure they are sealed tightly in either a plastic or glass container.
    • When stored in an airtight container, pecans will last up to 2 weeks at room temperature, 4 weeks in the fridge or 4 months in the freezer.

    • Topping on a bowl of ice cream with some homemade hot fudge!
    • Grape Pecan Summer Salad
    • Chopped Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette
    • Break them apart and add them to a mason jar with a fun ribbon tied around the rim to give as a gift!
    • Add to the top of a pumpkin or pecan pie.

    FAQ About Sugared Pecans

Are sugared pecans good for you?

Unfortunately, sugared pecans are not healthy. They should be enjoyed in moderation due to the amount of sugars they are prepared with.

How long do sugared pecans last?

Sugared pecans should be stored in an air tight container and can be enjoyed for about two weeks. If they are refrigerated, they will last about 2 more weeks.

Hi Maribeth, thank you for asking. I haven’t done this to test it out but I would think they’d be fine to double at once. Let me know how you enjoy them!

Can you tell me what the difference is between using the butter that is in this recipe and egg whites? Is it a texture difference or a calorie one?
