Sugared Pecans are a tasty little snack. Yummy spices, butter and sugars create an easy treat! Perfect for gift-giving, too!

    Why This Recipe Works

The thing I love about these sugared pecans, aside from the fact that they are totally addicting and yummy, is that they’re made in a slow cooker. This means easy! This super easy snack is great to have in a bowl for grazing during holiday gatherings.

They are also a perfect gift. Throw some into a mason jar and tie a ribbon around it!

    Recipe Ingredients

Pecans – Purchase fresh whole pieces vs chopped pecans.

Salted butter – This will compliment the sweetness.

Brown sugar and Granulated Sugar – Both sugars will caramelize around the pecans.

Spices – Cinnamon, all-spice, ground cloves

    How To Make Sugared Pecans

    Step 1

Place the following ingredients into a crockpot:

    • Pecans
    • Butter
    • Brown sugar
    • Granulated sugar
    • All-spice
    • Ground cloves
    • Cinnamon
pecans, sugar and butter in a crockpot

    Step 2

Cook on Low heat for 2 hours, stirring often. Pour into a medium bowl and let cool before serving.

    Recipe Notes

    • Once they’ve cooled, sugared pecans are ready for storing. Make sure they are sealed tightly in either a plastic or glass container.
    • When stored in an airtight container, pecans will last up to 2 weeks at room temperature, 4 weeks in the fridge or 4 months in the freezer.

    How To Enjoy Sugared Pecans

    • Sugared pecans make the perfect snack for a holiday or any time of the year.
    • Topping on a bowl of ice cream with some homemade hot fudge!
    • Grape Pecan Summer Salad
    • Chopped Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette
    • Break them apart and add them to a mason jar with a fun ribbon tied around the rim to give as a gift!
    • Add to the top of a pumpkin or pecan pie.

    FAQ About Sugared Pecans

Are sugared pecans good for you?

Unfortunately, sugared pecans are not healthy. They should be enjoyed in moderation due to the amount of sugars they are prepared with.

How long do sugared pecans last?

Sugared pecans should be stored in an air tight container and can be enjoyed for about two weeks. If they are refrigerated, they will last about 2 more weeks.

Did they soften up the pecans or did they stay hard?

Hi Joyce! The pecans stay hard through the cooking. Hope this helps!

Not sure what I did wrong, but mine did not turn out like the picture. They were still wet and sticky after they cooled, but tasted good..

I tried this recipe, and they are so easy to make and "Oh, So Addictive". My husband loved them, so did the girls at the office. So, now they want the recipe.

These turned out great! I sprayed my crock-pot with spray-oil beforehand, and didn't have a problem with anything sticking. I made them to give as gifts: one batch fills six 8oz. mason jars. I glued ribbon around the rim of the jars and they look festive!

      This looks wonderful!

Sara A. – Get yourself a jug of white vinegar (I keep one around att the time), fill that crockpot to where the crust is, turn it on high for awhile. That should help. Also, a lot of stores carry Bon Ami, which us like a natural, non-toxic, very inexpensive comet. Usually kept next to Barkeeper's Secret.

Any time I use any non non-stick pan, when the food leaves, the vinegar goes in and it goes back on the burner. I seldom scrub anything anymore,

Hi Sara! I'm so sorry! I hope you are able to get your crock pot back to normal.

These ruined my crockpot! I had it on low heat and was stirring every 15-20 minutes and it left a blackened crust stuck to the pot which is impossible to scrub off!

Hi Ellie! They will stay fresh for a few weeks as long as you have them sealed up in air-tight container.
