The only word I can think of to describe the weather right now is delicious. It is absolutely perfect outside. I want to put it in a dish and eat it. I have not been able to comfortably sit on my patio often this summer, so I have much appreciation for it right now.

This light and refreshing watermelon raspberry sangria was inspired by this summer weather. I have not many batches of sangria in my life and as I type this I am wondering WHY I’ve waited so long. This is just the beginning of a beautiful relationship – between fruit and wine, anyway.

    HOW TO MAKE RASPBERRY SANGRIA

This sangria is easy to put together, light and refreshing. Wine and raspberries are the best way to unwind!

    STEP 1

Place the following into the bottom of a large serving pitcher:

Fresh rinsed raspberries and cubed watermelon.

Pour the raspberry liqueur over the fruit.

White wine being poured into pitcher of sangria

    STEP 2

Add 2 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc and stir to combine. Chill for a minimum of 2 hours.

Serve chilled, making sure to add some of the fresh fruit pieces to the serving glasses.

    RECIPE TIPS

    • You can mix and match the fruits that are in season or replace white wine with red!

    • Lemon lime soda could be added to enjoy a fizzy sangria.

    HOW TO ENJOY YOUR COCKTAIL

    • Serve it on Mother’s Day to celebrate the lovely ladies in your life.

    • Sunny pool days!

    • Summer evening gatherings.

    • Make it a special birthday cocktail to share.

    WHAT IS SANGRIA

This refreshing alcoholic beverage is a wine-based drink, served like a punch. It is a traditional red wine served with chopped fruit and occasionally juice or brandy.

    HOW LONG DOES SANGRIA LAST

Short answer: enjoy the sangria the same day you make it!

Longer answer: Technically this drink could last 2-3 days. But the fruit that is added to the booze and wine will start to break down and not be as tasty (read: mushy). Add fruit just before serving in order to avoid this issue.
