Donuts have never been easier or less loaded with fat! Use refrigerated biscuits to make super delicious donuts in your air fryer. Save a few dollars and a trip to the donut shop!

My home was recently blessed with a brand new air fryer, which my nine-year-old immediately put to use. This boy loves to bake, cook and create in the kitchen. His first air fryer creation? Donuts, of course! We went the easy route on our first try and we were all pleasantly surprised about how delicious they turned out!

With ONE ingredient (minus toppings) and just a few minutes of our time? A batch of delicious donuts greeted us and we devoured them very quickly and easily. We rolled half of the batch in cinnamon and sugar and the other half we dunked in icing. Both tasted incredible! We will make these again and again!

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER DONUTS

STEP 1

Separate the biscuits and place them on a flat surface. Use a small round cookie cutter or shot glass to cut holes in the middle; remove centers.

Place a single layer of donuts in an air fryer basket.

Air fry at 350 degrees for 3 minutes per side or until golden brown and flaky. Do this in batches.

Do not discard the donut holes! Fry them separately, but for just 2 minutes per side.

STEP 2

Mix sugar and cinnamon together and place in a shallow dish. When the donuts and doughnut holes are done cooking, brush all sides with melted butter and roll in the sugar-cinnamon mixture until coated. Enjoy immediately!

RECIPE NOTES

  • An alternative to coating the donuts in a cinnamon sugar mixture is to dunk them in a simple glaze. Combine 1 cup powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons milk and mix until smooth.
  • To make a flavored glaze, consider replacing the milk with chocolate syrup for a chocolate glaze or maraschino cherry juice for a cherry icing!
  • Lightly coat the air fryer basket with coconut oil spray before cooking.
  • For best results, use flaky biscuit dough.
