Homemade donuts have never been easier or less loaded with fat! Use refrigerated biscuits to make super delicious donuts in your air fryer to satisfy your sweet tooth. Save a few dollars and a trip to the donut shop. Make air fryer biscuit donuts for breakfast today!

    Why This Recipe Works

My home was recently blessed with a brand new air fryer, which my youngest cutie immediately put to use. This boy loves to bake, cook and create in the kitchen. His first creation? Delicious air fryer donuts, of course! We went the easy route on our first try and we were all pleasantly surprised about how well they turned out!

With ONE ingredient (minus toppings) and just a few minutes of our time? A batch of warm donuts greeted us and we devoured them very quickly and easily. We rolled half of the batch in cinnamon and sugar and the other half we dunked in icing.

Both tasted incredible! This is our new favorite Saturday morning breakfast. Sadly, our favorite donut shop down the road won’t be seeing us quite as often.

    Recipe Ingredients

Refrigerated canned biscuits – For best results, use flaky biscuit dough (Grands biscuits work great).

Cinnamon-sugar mixture or glaze – You get to decide! Roll cooked donuts in the sugar mixture OR drizzle a classic glaze over the top.

Toppings – Toppings are 100% optional but if you’re feeling indulgent, throw a few extras on top of the donuts! Mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, chopped Fruit Loops (or cereal of choice) or even (GASP) chopped candy are all great options.

How To Make Easy Air Fryer Donuts

    Step 1

Separate the biscuits and place them on a flat surface. Use a small circle cookie cutter or shot glass to cut small holes into the center of each biscuit; remove centers. Place a single layer of donuts in an air fryer basket or inner pot.

Air fry at 350 degrees F for 3 minutes per side or until golden brown and flaky. Use tongs to flip. Do this in batches.

Do not discard the donut holes! Fry them separately, but for just 2 minutes per side.

    Step 2

Mix sugar and cinnamon together and place in a shallow dish. When the donuts and doughnut holes are done cooking, brush all sides with melted butter and roll in the sugar-cinnamon mixture until coated OR dip donuts in a glaze. Enjoy immediately!

    Recipe Notes

    • An alternative to coating the donuts in a cinnamon sugar mixture is to dunk them in a simple glaze. Combine 1 cup powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons milk and mix until smooth.
    • To make a flavored glaze, consider replacing the milk with chocolate syrup for a chocolate glaze or maraschino cherry juice for a cherry icing!
    • Lightly coat the air fryer basket with coconut oil spray before cooking.
    • Have leftover donuts? Store in plastic wrap or an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
    • If you don’t have a small enough glass to punch out the middle of the donut, use an apple corer or the top of an empty bottle (or a bottle cap!).
