Not just a good seasoned sour cream recipe, but the best ever! This recipe gives Champps a run for their money! Great for your next stack of fries or even a platter of veggies.
I sometimes think back fondly on those days of happy hours on Fridays after a busy work week. That is the only thing I miss about the corporate world. They were the best! Blowing off steam, venting about work issues and enjoying a cold beer and an appetizer.. ahh, those were the days!
One of our go-to spots was Champps and I can remember absolutely DEVOURING their waffle fries and seasoned sour cream. A couple years ago my husband set out to recreate that delicious dipping sauce and I think he did a fantastic job. Here is his version of the famous happy hour snack.

Did not care for the flavors in this one at all. Maybe too much mayo, paprika and/or lemon juice and not enough of the ingredients noted in the comments by others? Not at all what we expected.

Thank you for trying it. I hope you find a combination that would be more to your liking – so many ways to prepare the same things! I enjoyed it but there’s so many great ways to flavor foods – don’t give up trying. It’s fun to have condiments to enjoy with fries and other foods you like dipping.

I am sure it is good but you are missing celery salt, dill and curry which is part of the Champps recipe.
Megan Porta
Great tips! Thank you for sharing that.

There is no black pepper or table salt in it, but there is dill weed, onion powder, celery salt, and the aforementioned curry. Fresh parsley as opposed to dried, and also fresh green onion. Granulated garlic instead of the salt. The rest of the ingredients are good. 😉

Left out the mayo and it still tastes fantastic!

Do you know how long this can be stored in the fridge? Just wondering if I can make a big batch at once
Megan Porta
Place it in an air tight container and it will last a week!
Nathan
very tasty!! Ill make this often.

Awesome! It’s to whip together and have on hand. Thanks for sharing!

That’s a beginning. I used to work there and there’s way more spices in it. Believe it or not there’s curry in it.
Megan Porta
Thank you! I enjoy this simplistic version but that’s really interesting that curry is one of the ingredients. Thank you for sharing.

What other ingredients are in the original recipe? How much curry?
