Why This Recipe Works
Does anyone else go to Subway just to eat the sauces? I am obsessed with the Subway chipotle sauce and every time I get it slathered over one of my sandwiches I wish I had a massive container of it sitting in my fridge.
If you are a frequent reader, you know that sauces are one of my obsessions. Given this information, it was inevitable that I was going to go home and create my own version of this tasty Subway sauce.
You guys. This Subway chipotle sauce recipe tastes so dang much like the real thing. It is the perfect sauce to pair with literally any food on the planet.
If you’re a big fan like I am, make this easy recipe! It comes together in just a few minutes and you likely have all of the ingredients sitting in your kitchen already!
Recipe Ingredients
Ranch dressing – Any variety tastes great, but I personally love a good Hidden Valley Ranch dressing.
Sour cream – Full fat sour cream works best, but you may use a low-fat variety if you are hoping to slim down the recipe a bit.
Mayonnaise – Use regular mayo for a more authentic flavor experience, but light mayo can be used to slim it down. All or part of the mayo can be replaced with plain Greek yogurt for an even slimmer sauce.
Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce – Typically this ingredient can be found in the International aisle of most grocery stores. They come in small cans and the contents can appear chunky, as they man contain chiles as well as jalapeno pepper chunks and other ingredients.
Note: Substitute for chipotle peppers in adobo are equal amounts chipotle paste or chipotle powder.
White vinegar – Other varieties may be used in place of white, such as apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar.
Onion and garlic powder – If you’re feeling ambitious, replace the onion powder with a clove of minced garlic.
Granulated sugar – White sugar tastes best, but brown sugar can be used, as well. For added sweetness, increase the amount used by 1 teaspoon at a time, using no more than 1 tablespoon total.
Paprika – Add a delicious smoky flavor by using smoked paprika vs regular!
Salt – Any variety of salt works great, such as kosher salt, sea salt or table salt.
Pepper – Use freshly ground black pepper for best results.

Can You Freeze Mayonnaise Based Sauces
Mayonnaise based sauces may be frozen, but the quality might diminish after thawing. Freezing them may cause a separation of the ingredients. The sauce will look different than it did when it went into the freezer and may have a lumpier texture, as well.
